This morning I read Psalm 32: 7.
You are my hiding place, You shall preserve me from trouble, You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.
This verse always brings me comfort, but it brought me a knew appreciation just recently. I have been reading a devotional by Amy Carmichael titled You Are My Hiding Place. I thought I would read the Psalm to my children and ask them to memorize it with me. They readily and heartily began learning the verse. This surprised me because they are not usually so agreeable. I knew the Lord was with them and had given them extra help. They needed Him and so did I. Each child was struck by different parts. One liked knowing that He will preserve us from trouble, another loves music and responded to His songs of deliverance. They helped me to memorize God’s word and now I know more than just “You are my hiding place.” I also know that He will preserve me from trouble and that He will surround me with songs of deliverance.
