Songs of Victory…

Standard

“Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dancing.” Exodus 15:20

“It happened as they were coming, when David returned from killing the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy and with musical instruments.” 1 Samuel 18:6

The people of Israel sang their songs of victory and danced and played instruments as the warriors returned from battle. The imagery of these scenes are colorful and full of expressive joy, I wish I could be there to see it.

Do we praise the Lord and celebrate when God brings us spiritual victory? I tried and tried to come up with a time that we as a family might have done that, let alone just me. Tomorrow is a day of victory, and in the churches there will be songs and musical instruments being played as we celebrate our Lord and Saviour. I look forward to the day when our King comes to take us home. He will reign forever and ever. Amen.
