The Living Water…

Standard

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water…..

My Soul will be satisfied as with the richest  of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

Psalm 63:1, 5

There are times of abundance and times when I have little. I am talking about spiritual abundance in this case.¬† The Father gives us those times of hunger and thirst for one reason. How can we lead others to the Living Water if we don’t hunger or thirst for it. O God you are my God. My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you! In this dry and weary land where there is no water, I will ever praise.

Believe in Him…

John 6:25-40

Jesus had just fed the 5,000 with five barley loaves and two fish. The people, Jesus knew, wanted to make Him a king so He withdrew to the mountain by Himself. His disciples started across the sea to Capernaum. When the disciples were three or four miles out in the sea, they saw Jesus walking on water toward them. The disciples were frightened.

vs 20 He said, ” It is I; do not be afraid.”

Jesus got into the boat with them and they arrived safely on the land. The crowds knew that Jesus had not left with the disciples. When the people arrived across the sea in Capernaum, they were all trying to figure out how Jesus had gotten there.

vs 25 When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”

vs 26 Jesus answered them and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

vs 27 “Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”

vs 28 Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?”

vs 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

The people wanted to see more signs and wonders so that they could believe Him. He tells them He is the bread of life, that whoever believes in Him will never hunger, never thirst. The people were thinking of physical hunger and physical thirst and thought this was a great thing.

vs 40 “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”

Heavenly Father, Your patience and love for Your children is everlasting. I await Your return and believe in You, that You will raise me up on the last day. Help me to live according to Your will and good purpose. Amen.
